About

Dalma Dévényi, founder and designer of Je Suis Belle, worked in the fashion industry for 20 years, and after the brand's termination, she learned goldsmithing. In 2024, she made her debut with d'Alma, a range of small editions of customisable jewellery that continues the designer's ironic, sometimes surreal, nostalgic vision, with pop-culture references. The use of materials is in the direction of absolute luxury: the jewellery is made of the highest quality metals and precious stones, while the design language is deconstructive, cool and arty. It reinterprets the archetypes of luxury jewellery in a contemporary way, using traditional techniques.

The "designer and maker" approach is particularly important to her, as her process-based and experimental work is based on her personal relationship and respectful engagement with the material. Her deep and profound knowledge of material and workmanship allows her to see the potential for full design freedom and unfolding.

In her design processes she often incorporates and develops the accidental forms, the wonderful amorphous shapes of the by-products of working materials, such as molten metal. Occasionally crossing the boundaries of applied art, she also makes detours into autonomous art, collaborating with other artists for her own pleasure.

Each piece is a limited edition, handmade in the designer's Budapest workshop.
